Match Report: Spirulina 1-4 SRM FC

Nasrul's men march on as Spirulina are brushed aside...

SRM put pressure on Black Emperor for they next quarter-final clash after running out 4-1 winners over Spirulina at Old Spiruford on Wednesday.

Kamarul opened the scoring and after that Ammar volleyed the second goal for SRM in the first half. Eddy and Nisham both scored second half goals before Spirulina grabbed a consolation goal through their winger.

Luqman, played as supporting striker behind Chap raced down the right wing and drilled the ball low across the face of goal for Kamarul to slide the ball home at the far post to score his 2nd goal for SRM.

Before the half-time, Spirulina were again exposed on the right-hand side of their defence when Luqman find Shahrom on the edge of the area and he rolled the ball out to Ammar, who rifled the ball left-footed past a stranded Spirulina goalie for the second goal.

Second-half started with a few substitutions made by SRM for tactical purpose. Eddy find his first ever goal in SRM's shirt after the blunder from Spirulina shot stopper and few minutes later, SRM fourth goal scored, thanks to Chap post-hitting header that rebound straight to Nisham, who headed the ball into the Spirulina net.

Just before the final whistle blew, Spirulina scored a consolation goal through a brilliant solo strike fro their right winger.
